Azim Malik presents the second webinar in a periodontal series, in partnership with Edudent Academy. Part two focuses on local anaesthesia – and provides information on direct access and who can prescribe and administer anaesthetic.
To provide a refresher on oral anatomy and innervation of the maxillary and mandibular tissues, as well as an understanding of pharmacology and mode of action of local anaesthetics. Techniques for maxillary and mandibular anaesthesia, and tips to minimise discomfort will be offered and different types of anaesthetics and their advantages and disadvantages will be discussed. In addition, this webinar will provide an understanding of the current UK legislation with regards to who can prescribe and administer anaesthetic.
