Course details

There are a number of reasons why you may wish to refer patients for treatment or advice. The main reason for referring a patient is because the treatment proposed is either outside your skills and competence or because you feel a more appropriately trained colleague will be able to provide treatment with a greater degree of skill and competence, which would be in the patient’s best interests.

This course aims to help you understand the importance of referrals to other treating clinicians. Implementing this knowledge into your day to day work will help maintain good patient records.
