Course details

This course is suitable for new registered providers and new registered managers (if one is required) who are starting up a new practice that has not previously been registered with the CQC.

There are three types of CQC registration:

  1. Individual
  2. Partnership or
  3. Organisation.

This type of registration is called the legal entity and it is essential that all practices are registered as the correct legal entity.

All dental practices that are registered with the CQC are required to have a registered manager.

The only exception is where the service provider (usually the practice principal or the practice owner, ie the legal entity) is an individual (ie, not part of a partnership and not a limited company) who manages the service the practice provides on a day-to-day basis and who has the necessary skills and experience to do this.

All other practices require a registered manager.

This course is aimed at assisting new registered providers and new registered managers (if one is required) with completing their CQC application(s) in a dental practice that is a new start-up and is not currently registered with the CQC.

If you are applying to be a new Registered Manager in an existing practice that is already registered with the CQC, please refer to Module 2 of our CQC ‘How to’ courses: How to register with the CQC as a new Registered Manager in a dental practice that is already registered with the CQC.
